COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – January 30, 2018: Life Skills at Cheyenne Mountain High School Benefits from Teacher Program.
Lauren D Collier and Rob Hoben of real estate firm Live Dream Colorado operate the Colorado Springs Teacher Program to support the important work of teachers in Colorado Springs. When any teacher at any school in Colorado Springs chooses to work with Lauren Collier and Rob Hoben to buy or sell a home, the social impact real estate company donates $250 to the teacher’s school.
Recently, couple Jim and Kate Myers, both local educators, worked with Collier and Hoben to sell and purchase homes this year, putting the Teacher Program to work. The Myers selected a very special recipient for the donation from their sales. On January 26, 2018, Collier delivered a check in the amount of $500 on behalf of Live Dream Colorado in the names of Jim and Kate to Director Leisa Jolstad and the Life Skills Program at Cheyenne Mountain High School.
The Life Skills Program provides special education for cognitively impaired high school students. Last Christmas, Life Skills students prepared a fundraiser baking and selling dog biscuits. The fundraiser was so popular that they sold out in just an hour! This year, they will re-invest the donated funds to purchase more supplies than last year and bake more dog biscuits, so as to amplify the impact of their fundraiser. They’re committed to sustaining their program, and it shows with their thoughtful use of the funds!
Collier and Hoben send a big Thank You to all of the teachers that do so much for all of our kids and communities.
This brings the total amount that Live Dream Colorado teacher clients have earned for local schools to $750 so far in 2018.
Teachers of all grade levels and subjects are welcome to participate in raising funds for their school, and all schools in Colorado Springs are eligible to participate in the Colorado Springs Teacher Program.
